A Roger Judski car - the windshield is very badly delaminated - worst I've ever seen.

Sold at 45K ...

I just got back from mecum today. I was there tues through saturday. I saw a 25 mile 1990 car sell for 31k and maybe a couple of other zr1's all very low miles. I did see a black 1995 in the (bid goes on) lot that was a no sale at 22k. this car had 46k miles but had some mysterious repairs on the black plastic air intake piece using some some black muck adhesive and I saw a couple of new parts in the front bumpers which leads me to believe it had a small front end collision. this car sat there all week no sale at 22k. engine looked like somebody tried to clean it with some solution and you know what that means.... engine paint shot. very few corvettes at mecum compared to last year.

I also went to the NCRS meet at lakeland on Friday morning... I did not see 1 ZR1 LT5 anywhere in the show field, for sale lot or even corvette only parking lot. I did get a report that on saturday somebody drove there 1990 ZR1 to the show which was the only LT5 at the show all weekend. There was Tyler Townsley blue prototype on display in a special hanger where all the flight cars and special exhibit cars were being held. I did get a very rare opportunity to see up close and touch the iconic CERV II Corvette. This was Zora's baby. A guy opened a trailer and I saw that back end and knew what it was. He asked me if I would help him push it out of the trailer and into the exhibit tent which I was thrilled to do. This car is a time capsule. Untouched and 100% original in its final configuration that Zora left it in. It has a rear mounted ZL1 engine with exhaust stacks pointing up and outward, 4 wheel drive, auto trans on its original tires and magnesium wheels. This car was in a legal tug a war with GM and the new private owner. GM said it loaned out the car but right on the dash they placed a plaque that said (donated) not loaned for educational purposes. This car is in private ownership.. incredible. This rreally pissed Zora off big time. He remained upset about this the rest of his life. Our cars are pretty rare. They just are not seen around alot and sometimes not seen at all. I was recently at a large Corvette show in Ft. Lauderdale where I brought my ZR1 and was the only ZR1 LT5 at the show with over 400 cars. fyi. ed ramos #3028

I did meet Dave McClellan at the NCRS show on Friday. He looks healthy and enjoying his retirement.

I agree with Ed--The lack of ZR-1s at the auction and shows does underscore how rare our cars are. Still surprised the values remain quite low. At some point (probably not in my lifetime) collectors will discover the rarity and performance and they will get hot. Ed, glad you met Dave. He is great about being at so many shows and gatherings. --Bob

Sometime u get the impression that McLellan is the black sheep for what he did by having Lotus develop the LT-5. Altho u don't hear much about Dave Hill.
