selling wheels and tires

In your opinion, if you was selling two new a-molds and 2 new tires, would you leave them mounted or would you seperate the wheels and tires and box them seperately? I am installing my 17x11 on my fronts tomorrow so I will be selling the stock size front a molds but dont know if I should take the tires off the rims or what. what should I do?

Re: selling wheels and tires

Just my opinion,Ed,but if the tires are in excellent shape,I think I would sell them as a unit.

Re: selling wheels and tires

Depends on whether they're real a-molds. If they're repros, doesn't really matter. If they're real, break them apart. JMO

Good luck with the sale, Ed!

Re: selling wheels and tires

I believe I'd hang on to the A-molds for either a potential sale of the car OR perhaps you might regret the move to the 4 X 11". If the color is a match on all four presently I know I'd hang on to them.

The tires if are near new with fresh/recent date codes I'd consider the sale of "tires only" but keep the A-molds if they're genuine.

Re: selling wheels and tires

they are repros. they are new and the tires are brand new.

Re: selling wheels and tires

just had my tires mounted and my wheels put on my car. had to run home as a few rain drops had begun to fall. I just barely made it to my garage. car looks great. like a big shiny slot car. drives very good and can feel the extra rubber in the front. I feel it turns more exact and quicker. when you lift up the clam sheel hood it seems the tires go on forever like a fred flintstone car. there is no rubbing and there is deep dish on all four corners. I could not snap pics since the rain started once I got her in the garage. maybe if there is a break in the rain since they predict rain all weekend, i can snap some pics and post. should have done this sooner.

Camaro?? really.. who cares. When I am talking in the Corvette world, a camaro is simply a wannabe Corvette. Camaro's dont drive like Corvettes. Not too many cars can take 315/35/17 tires on all four corners with no suspension and body mods and its an antique too. My car feels like it gained a ton of power without those crappy resonators. I strongly suggest to yank those out, especially if they are flowmasters. there is tremendous drone but... when you feel the difference you wont care. If you dont want drone, go drive your Caddy or Lincoln. my 2 cents. My Town Car is always available to me when I just want peace and quiet on the road.

we are going through some rainy weather this weekend. I managed to stick the car in the garage and avoid the rain as I came home. I still havent had a good long look at it. as soon as it dries up I will take some pics.

Ed,
I have seen at least ten ZR-1's with 315's on all four corners; over the years.
They look good, but I have never driven one. "Enjoy"!!!!
The new Z-28 is in no way a Corvette; but is alot of fun to drive and handles quite well.

engine needs powdercoating I know but nobody down here qualified to work on this thing. sgc wont answer his calls. I talked to him back in 2005 but now nobody answers his calls or emails. I will wait until I have to remove the plenum. I just received Mark Haibecks cd video so I will be looking at that. I wish one of you guys line dynomite or some other guys who know alot more than me was at least within 500 miles of me so maybe something could be done. so far everything works on this car, no lights or leaks of any kind. I will post up the horse power killing resonator. I swear if the seat of the pants feel was accurate I would think at least 10 horsepower. I notice it all up in the rpms. this is when the car just stands up and shoots down the road whaling in full song.

It is a chevrolet so I have respect for the camaro. I like the new zl1 camaro and old big block units too. I have had mustangs and camaros and they are not as great handling as a corvette. these were unmodified camaros and stock corvettes. I have only seen 4 zr1's with 315 all around but only one with chrome a molds. It drives great. seems like the response is quicker and the car reacts quicker to any turns. I have not sensed that ruts on the road cause any type of problems. it runs very smooth and no noise at all. I like them quite a bit. I like American sports cars and muscle cars and cheer for them wherever they run. I am not a fan of foreign sports cars. I respect a few but would not own one.

Re: selling wheels and tires

It was aligned when I bought the new rims and tires. In fact when I bought the car it was aligned for track use so it was way out of street alignment. I had it aligned front and back at a place down here famous for there great alignments. All he does is align cars and trucks and he specializes in aligning cars that dealers cant align. His place is called the Alignment Factory. The new 315's track beautifully and are balanced perfectly. There is no pull or anything that would want me to align it again just because I changed to a wider wheel/tire. I drive this car very little and it feels very stable. fat wheels and tires on all fours rides just great.

It damn well better for a $75,000 Camaro.

Yah, the track alignment would scrub your tires!!!
