LS-1 doesn't fit without special bellhousing. ZFDoc was doing a project on this with the idea of swapping LS-1 in a C4 using a ZF-6. Other C4 LS-1 swaps have used Tremec with bracketing for Cbeam.

Anything other than a Gen2 small block and your friend will have to buy or fabricate parts.
Bell housing and flywheel are the two biggies.

Looks like Bill did it.

It fit the turbo I-6 that Lotus used in the Lotus Carlton/Omega... ;) Man would that be a cool car to have over here.

sorry for the delay in thanks guys.....

hope the following isnt too confusing

Another freind has bought a 5000mile 06 LS7 motor complete with all acilliaries from the same guy with the ZF box (for $5k the lucky dog) but not the ZF box due to impossibility of fitting the two together (l might have that for a spare (does $800 sound OK to you???)..anyway the engine buyer will now use a T56

however the guy that was selling the ZF was also selling a T56 on the 06 C6 Z06 transaxle ($1800...another steal imo)and l was wondering if the T56 box is any different to a standard type used on a front engine/bellhousing/box setup....but l wondered if the fact that the T56 was ''in the back'' made it any different from standard

If all thats clear you are a better man than me ''gungadin''
