A question for audio gurus out there;

I have a 94 w/ factory Bose. Ultimately I will be going to after market system. In the meantime, I have an old Alpine mono amp and a 10" sub that's been sitting on the shelf from one of my former rides.

I was thinking about building a enclosed box and tapping off left and right rear factory speaker w/ interface that adjusts cross over htz and hooking up to sub amplifier. I did this with other cars but they were typical 4 ohms system.

Would same hook up work with Bose 2 ohm system?

The same was posted on Audio section of the other forum.

I don't see why not - just remember the voltage level at the 2 ohm speaker is half what it is at a 4 ohm one for a given audio signal level so you might have to tweak the input level to the sub amplifier to get the desired output.

Thanks for the input.
I did a quick research on the internet and it seems there is a unit refered to as line output controller (LOC). This comes in 2 channel, 4, 6 and even 8 channel configuration allowing 2 ohm speaker line input and allows for RCA jack output to amplifier/amplifiers. This should do the trick.

Ai'nt internet great?!!!
