I bought a used harness bar over on that other forum so Ive been a busy cylon. Install was pretty easy what do you all think of formfactor of the install? Came with both passenger and driver side left and right seat mount points for the belts. Brey-Krause makes a real nice HB. Powder coated black crinkle looks pretty good in the back interior. I was a little paranoid about the install since Phil has such a hard time with his harness bar set up in his 91 that Haibeck had to deal with. I can highly recommend this Mfgs bar. I noticed significant stiffness in the upper frame area. Car is a lot tighter now. GC

Pardon my ignorance....will that set up enable you to use racing type seat belt systems? Is that what the guys that do track days ( HPDE days ) are talking about when they refer to a "harness bar" ?
Jez, I'm full of Q's, sorry...
Daryl, did you have to cut up the interrior to fit that equipment? It sure don't look like anything was altered, just bolted over stuff? It looks like the halo bar lights get covered? or removed?....I can live with that...oh, nice thumper btw!

What do the seat-mount points look like? The bar looks great. Will you use a harness around the stock seat? Is it safe to do that vs having a through-the-seat setup?
I've actually thought about getting one just to stiffen the car and to mount a camera on.

Brey-Krause is Top Notch
My R-D Racing bar needed hours of modification by Marc, with no support from vendor, I have a Brey-Krause fire exting bar, also a good unit
Now you need the 5 point & Lets go racing

Tom thats the beauty no mods. The upper seatbelt mounts are removed and supplied hardware added. The lower lapbelt mounts fit behind the seat belt retractor and the inside lapmount point fits behind the seatbelt mount insert buckle next to the console. Thanks Tom the thumper came with the car and even with the thumper box and the bar the top still fit in.

No Lee but it was done by KB and its Jeffvette quality. I remember the crinkle PCing on the motors that I liked as well.

Since we are talking about safety, let me point out a few things.
When using a harness bar with 5 or 6 point harnesses, always use your factory belt as well. You are depending upon the harness bar to survive an accident of major catastrophe. It will not. Also 5 or 6 point harnesses are not street legal. You can get pinched for improper belts or not wearing a seat belt.
Second, when using harnesses, make sure they fit you properly. They should come straight over your shoulders square. In a C4 seat, they come around the headrest at an angle and can spread in an accident. Use a sternum strap to keep them from spreading, or better yet, get a race seat with proper harness holes incorporated.

Looks terrible Daryll. But the good news is I'm willing to take it off your hands! :D
But seriously, it does look good. I've been keeping an eye out for one of those for some time now. I guess that's what I get for being without Internet the past couple of months. Oh well, I'm glad you got it. At least I'll be able to see it at some point.

Great harness bar. Some options:

I can look up the camera mount if you like. The fire extinguisher is mounted
with C bar clamps. And do you have the front seat track bar for
the anti-submarine belt?

Here you go Bob, heres a pic of the drivers side mount point. As you can see the hardware fits behind the factory seat belt hardware. The otherside mounts to a simular point that fits behind the seatbelt buckle next to the console. Very clean install. The toggle swtich in picture #2 is my antenna power down or delete switch as I listen to Sirus and movies going to and from work.

Pic 2 shows the vertical that mounts to the undeside of the bar to the backside of the seatbelt retractor point. The harness bar of couse also fits on both ends of the seat belt stancions in the halo side panels as you can see in the above first two pics in the OP thread #1. You can aslo see a close up of the crinkle powdercoating. GC

... I've been keeping an eye out for one of those for some time now...
Well it looks like luck was with me. I was finally able to come across a harness bar and it ended up being a Brey-Krause. In fact, I picked it up from a very nice gentleman across town that owns a '90 Z. He seemed to be a dealer of these items at one point as the one I got was new and he did have other accessories for sale, including what looked to be a pretty nice camera mount. If you still have interest in one of these, I can put you in contact with him. I believe the camera mount was around $100 and he did have other Brey-Krause accessories he was selling, all wrapped in original packaging.
I still need to get it installed.

Yea I picked one up. Top Quality great price from Benny in Arizona. I also picked up 1 sub mount and 2 side seat belt mounts. Looking for a camera mount and 1 more sub mount bar. Marc said nicest harness bar he has ever seen. :thumbsup Big Thanks to GC for turning me on to the original Ebay listing. I lost the bid but the guy contacted me that he had others for the same price.

When I get home I will look at the receipt of the guy I bought the camera mount and the fire extingiusher mount from out here in Arizona. I cant remember the vendor name but Rickyrj1 bought a bar from him. Currently I am teaching in Vegas. Ruby93Z hooked me up this this vendor I suggest you PM him as well as I wont be home until Friday evening.
