Those gasketes almost match my table. And when I'm done with the hand work I'm going to be looking for someone to powder coat this stuff and make it look sharp again.

To each his own but, was there a reason you did not siamese them? I was under the impression that was the best performance way to go.

I did Siamese the plenum. I'm going to semi Siamese the injector housings only a 1/2 inch deep. But I'm going to leave a wall there to separate the primary from the secondary.

This one has a goldish tint to it and the following:

Is this the 90 coolant tube provision?

Here is the other; the same as my 92

missing the breather provision.....help!

The other is 36MM, this one is the stock 31.11......and for those porters wondering how "round" the intake should be....the factory is pretty lopsided:)

Castings are not very accurate anyway. So I machined mine as symmetrical as possible. It may not be necessary. But like most machinist I'm a perfectionist. It's just a habit.

I sure did. Gee! Could you possibly be a machinist also! If so we are probably the last of the breed. If you havn't noticed, there is a shortage of qualified people. Its scary. Half of them can't even read.

Wish I were a machinist....but no.....bought it that way.
It was pulled out of a pile......was done years ago I assume

It looks like who ever did it kinda missed the mark.

That's the head side of the injector housing and the primary port that looks off center. The primary is only 32mm stock compared to the secondary @ 36.6mm. The runner isn't directly over the port, making it look like the counterbore is off. I think it's OK.

I havent done anything since I got them off the machine because I don't have a ball gauge to check them with. I've been meaning to make one on the cnc lathe but we are so busy there's no way to squeeze it in. I don't want to start grinding till I have a gage. The porting won't take long but after that I've got to send everything out to powder coat. God knows how long that will take to get back. The car is probably going to be down a couple of months. But I'm in no big hurry. After mine are done and everything works right I'll do your 94 Z and then Rob wants me to do his 93 Z. I 'm the sacrificial Guinea pig. We will talk about price after mine are done. Then I'll have a better idea of whats fair for all the work including removal and reinstall or not.

Fooseball=35M used that instead of a ball guage

I was thinking maybe a golf ball if its the right size.

Forget about that ball deal , everybody seems ssooo hung up on that. Just use an inside telescoping snap gauge or even some inside dividers, would/will be fine.

golf ball is in the 40 range.....ping pong is 38 and that seems too large....I have 391 rwhp and used the 35MM

:iamwithst A ball gauge might be nice to have for some things but I use telescoping gauges most often.

A ball gauge is the best way to gauge a hole thats not strait especially when your blacksmithing it by hand. I use telescoping gauges and bore mics all day long but those holes are straight. I feel more comfortable using something that gives me a full 360 degree circumference. A telescoping gauge gives you only two small contact points 180 degrees apart which works fine if its a machine bore. Its no big deal, They are easy to make. In fact while I'm at it I'll make several sizes out of 316SS 32 surface finish with a nice little chain hooked on them starting at 36mm and move up in .5mm increments up to 38mm. Maybe sell some. Who knows. I'm sure there's somebody out there who would like to have a nice set. Another nice tool to have in your porting arsenal. I'm starting to sound like Billy Mays

:iamwithst A ball gauge might be nice to have for some things but I use telescoping gauges most often.I believe you do, Robert. I consider you to be one of the top 2 or 3 LT-5 porters out there from what i've seen. Your on top of your game, again, from what i've seen. I don't like a ball gauge for the fact 70-80% of the time i'm laying out/printing a port, i will bias the port to one side or the other depending on 'A Lot' of criteria i'm going after. To me, with the ball deal, all a person can really do is size, not shape. The original point i was trying to make is/was, don't spend a bunch of time chasing down a 'Ball' & holding up the project. If you want/have to use a ball go ahead, but don't hold things up for it. A lot of guys know i come on here to 'NOT' talk about engines, i do that enough daily, just trying to quickly point out something to help your project along :).

I agree with not letting it hold up the project. And I know it doesn't have to be held within .001 like the stuff I have to make at work. I am really ready to get the show on the road and get it done. Right now the temps are cool enough to work in the garage. But when its 100 degrees with 80% humidity it really sucks. I'm going to finish it during this 3 day weekend.
Rick, i would like a 37mm ball,if not too pricey.
Thanks

No problem Pete. I'll run a batch of 5 of each size. I'm thinking maybe $25 a piece. That covers the price of the material and a little labor. Not really trying to make any money off of them. Just doing favors for my freinds on the netregistry. They will last forever and never rust.

If you are going to make some ball gauges may I suggest starting with 34 or 35mm and going up from there. It's better to be able to check your work as you go rather than realizing you are out of shape at 36. Might be interested in buying some if you make up a batch, never hurts to have more tools in the arsenal. Can I get a set for three easy payments of just $9.99
Thanks for the compliment Ryan, hope you make it down for our event this year.

Sure. Once one of the machines opens up. "Thy will be done".

I also want the 3 easy payments :)
Rick,will it have smooth surface?
I will take the 37mm ball let me know when it's done.
I would also prefer to thread it and use a screw instead of a chain.
I have 35,36, & 36.5 need to add 37.

NP! As far as the surface finish goes a 32 finish is an excellent finish. My plan was to tap it for a 10-32 or 1/4-20 and screw a small eye bolt into it for the chain. But you can screw whatever you like into it as long as it's the same thread pitch.
