... with the engine still in the car? Those last few bolts on both sides are not accessable. Do I loosen the engine mounts and tilt the engine? Loosen the brake booster on the drivers side? I'm sure some body has the secret.:icon_scra
I'm finally getting down to installing the ported intake and want to repaint the valve covers.
Thanks

on the driver's side you need to loosen the brake booster. this is done under the dash and it is much easier if you remove the driver's seat. it is a bit of a PIA to do, but many have done it.

I removed the Brake Booster and I also remove the Heater box piece ( the smaller) one covering the Cam cover..
careful on those Torx Bolts
now I need to refinish the covers

 Cool... thanks... Can you get away with just loosening the brake booster or does it have to come all the way out?

remove the nuts on the inside and slide the booster forward a bit. it doesn't need to be removed from the engine bay. this is what i did on mine.

You can do it with out removing it all the way. It will get tight but you can maneuver around it.

That's what I love about this forum and ZR-1 folks in general. Ask a question, get a straight answer in short order.
Thanks guys!

Stop playing games, just yank the motor, it's faster.:)

Ah yes, it is all coming back to me:mrgreen:. Take the seat out a just remove the 4 nuts that hold the booster on. It sounds so easy. Hope you are a small guy and don't wear bifocal glasses. That makes the job really tough. I was lucky that my neighbor is a auto mechanic and very small. He voluntered to remove and replace the booster. I couldn't thank him enough:thumbsup:
Good luck with the booster - everything else is easy:)
