I have a 92 ZR1 with 60k miles, only during start up the chains rattle for a quick second I assume until presure increases. Should I worry about this, if so what should I do?

Brett

there has been a design change to the right hand tensioner. If you are concerned with the rattle have that changed however its an expensive part.
my 92#475 white/white had the noise and i updated to the new tensioner.

Its not much of a concern, but thicker oil will help while an updated right side chain tensioner, preoil pump or accumulator will eliminate the problem.

What exactly does "expensive" mean?

Approx $220 in parts plus labor.

If you decide to replace the right side chain tensioner you will need a special tool to set it after it's installed. I have one that I can send you, if you would send it back when you are done with it. ron

Thank you, how big of a job is it? Are there any pics or instructions anywhere I do have a service manual.

I don't consider myself a great mechanic and I didn't have any problems. Just follow the instructions it isn't too bad of a job. You might want to read this. http://www.corvetteforum.com/techtips/viewsubtopic.php?SubTopicID=46&TopicID=2

You cant go wrong with a Mobil1 filter & oil. However, I still have a little rattle if I don't drive it for a week or so, but it only lasts for a second and is nothing to worry about.
