Amazing how deeply this "recession" is reaching. I watched Drag Racing on
ESPN and saw teams with no sponsorship and they were big names with no money. Never would have thought.:jawdrop:

I had a crane cam in my first hotrod, a 1973 Z28 with an LT1 in it from a Corvette. That car really moved and was a head turner. The Crane cam and lifters were quality products and stood up to repeated flogging. It is sad to see them go under.

On one hand i'm sorry to see them go but on the other hand things have been getting worse from them for a while, especially since Mikronite bought them. i haven't used stuff from them for a good while now.

That news really saddens me. I installed one of their cams and a set of lifters 12 years ago in my 68 mustang. Just a great product.Time for a moment of silence.

"Well-known cam shafts company Crane Cams shut down Feb. 24 for restructuring but says it plans to reopen, likely sometime in March.

All of the company’s 280 workers were laid off, though about 25 remain to work on military contracts."

Crane's not the only one...Hedman Headers have enough stock for 90 days so they told the workers to go home, for a while. MSD is not far away from chapter 11, also. Both Crane & MSD were bought out a few short years ago...

Not sure how many of you have heard this but Crane 'IS' going to re-open in the next couple-few weeks from what my sources tell me.

For the past couple days it looked like Scopion Performane was steping up to the plate & was going to take over/buy out what's left of Crane but as of today Liqui Tec Industries has been hired to liquidate the assest of Crane Cams...on again...off again
