Has anyone changed their oil after their ZR1 has been sitting for a couple of days?

yeah sure have it takes forever to drain. if you havent allready drained her , start her up for 10 min. then after shutting her down drain the oil . just put the pan under the car and go away for a couple of hrs . close her up and put your new oil in.

I usually change it after it's been sitting a while. Otherwise the oil filter can make a mess when you remove it.

That's usually how I do it, if it happens to be on the lift, but not for any particular reason. I can drain it quicker that way. Otherwise, I'll let it drain overnight & finish the job next day. I think the main issue is to let the LT5 sit idle for several hr after running to allow ample time for all the oil to drain to the pan. Not much diff whether before draining or after starting the drain.
Different schools of thought, draining hot supposedly gets more solids in suspension out, but I leave that up to the filtration process.

I try to plan when and have her sit for at least 8 hrs to make sure I get decent drain back after use. Usually I try for a minimum of 24 hrs sitting time to get the most old oil out.
Shouldn't be an issue, Manfred. I just changed mine. Let it drain for 3 days on the lift (mostly because I forgot I was draining it and didn't get back out there to finish the job!).
