Battery Tender for Z?

What are you guys using for battery tenders for your C4?

I bought a "NOCO" battery tender from my local Battery Warehouse but the leads wont fit between the battery and the cars factory positive cable.

I found a traditional trickle charger led to overcharging issues. Have used this battery minder for several years now with good results. The conditioning / desulfinating feature seems to work as advertised.

Cut off the eyelets and splice this on and stick it in the cigarette lighter. It what I did with my 750 ma Harley tender from the old days.

Im actually planning to delete my Cigarette lighter and replace it with a USB outlet.

What you?re looking for is this Rockford Fosgate battery terminal extender bolt. Just pull out the stock bolt from the stock cable terminal and you can add connections. They have cheap Chinese imitations but I don?t recommend it. You can use it on both + and -, but I have a quick disconnect on my negative so I have a bolt and washers that does similar.17442

I?m installing this Optimate Panel Mount socket in my fender well to just plug in my Battery Tender anytime without popping my hood or fishing/hiding the cable to battery.

I have been using the Battery Tender 12v 800ma. It came with both
alligator clips connections and ring connections. the ring ends can be cut off
and wire to the positive side of battery and then to negative side or frame ground. To charge battery connect the ends to the battery charger then plug into your el. outlet and your done.

I've been using the different battery tenders from ctek (5.0 to 10.0) on all my vettes
that's the most popular tender in Germany - never any problems

:thumbsup: I have been using them (3 now) since 2002. The BATTERY TENDER brand is one of the first "smart chargers" on the market which unlike a trickle charger that will over charge and boil a battery away, the voltage is monitored and the unit folds back into a maintenance routine where it periodically (I'm told) will de-sulfate the battery with a pulse sequence which keeps the formation of the sulfate from obscuring the lead plates - reducing the amperage capacity. I have had batteries last for 14 years and still crank the car(s) like new!

On my Z06 I use a CTEK that came with the car, but on my other cars and previous ZR-1s I use/used a Battery Tender bought from the National Corvette Museum. I paid more for it than say, on Amazon, but the little bit extra was to support a worthy cause. --Bob

I got a ctek as a fathersday gift last year . Love it and have even used it for other things like ATV .

I wired my charge lead on the car to the factory splice block between the battery and the fire wall for the positive lead and found a ground connection on the frame rail behind the battery. Use a die hard automatic charger and also have a battery tender brand.

I've been using an Interacter LS for years and it's been great. They are made in Connecticut.
