No, I don't believe one can. That VIN looks to be a 1994 red Z with black interior

I agree... 1994 Torch Red with Black Interior
In 1994, GM made 65 Torch Red with Black Interior ZR-1's.

Open your door on the center console you will fine the Service Parts Identification label and you will see your VIN @ the top and all codes pertaining to your car below the VIN.
At the very bottom you will see the Base Coat/Clear Coat Code.

The VIN tells you its a ZR1, body coupe or convertible and engine. Check the NCRS Manual for a breakdown. If you have a sticker on your center compartment lid it will say the interior and exterior color, if its gone get a build sheet from the Museum.

Cut n paste this for your file ;)
If the EIGHTH character is an "8", it denotes an L98

There is no way that you can tell paint and trim from the VIN.
You of course can tell the year, the sequence number i.e 441 of 448 and confirm the LT-5, but that is it.
There is/was a spreadsheet that listed many of the cars from when members joined either the original ZR-1 Registry or this one. If the information was given, then that is likely how the one poster came up with the paint and trim on that particular car.
Hope that helps!

I also was in the original ZR-1 registry I joined in Nov.of 1992 with my 1990 ZR-1, still own the "90 Z" and really enjoy this brotherhood of ZR-1 owners.

Me too--Joined Larry Merow's group in 1993, about six months before I got my '93 in October 1994. The original ZR-1 Registry was a big help to me in learning about the ZR-1 before I bought one. --Bob

Under the "Member's Only" area of the main ZR-1 Net Registry, this production number comes back to the Chevrolet production of a Torch Red / Black ZR-1 with Painted & Bronze Tops, and is also listed in our Registry of ZR-1s.
