A standard C4 roof panel will fit a ZR1.
There are two colors of transparent roof panel, bronze and blue. Be sure to get the right one for your year. Also, the later year Z's had the car serial number stamped on the roof panel.

Yeah any C-4 will fit so try and get a newer one if you can find it or just buy a new one.

How much does a used C4 top usually cost ?

It`s said to be a transparent one is much cheaper than a solid one ?

It really varies based on the condition of the acrylic glass panel (or paint on the sold top), and yes the solid typically costs more.
I've seen the used clear ones go for as little as $200.00, but most are in the $500.00 range. You can actually send your existing one off to have either the bronze or blue refurbished if yours is damaged or not to your liking cosmetically.

BTW- Is your name a reference to the club in the movie the Terminator, music, or something else?

If you have a rebuildable exchange, then as low as $479 (through Thompson Astro Tops).... on the advice of others on this forum, I went through Melrose T-Top ($799). Melrose let me keep my factory frame (stamped with VIN #) and they did a GREAT job. I believe that the most expensive option is to go through GM ($1,295), and it's my understanding that they don't let you keep your frame (according to the local dealer).

Steve

Ok tanx steve and Z factor, good to know. Fortunately I got both tops with my Z.

Yes, well recognized, "Tek Noir" is a reference to the club in Terminator 1. I love this movie and its style - and also of course the multifacted 80`s.

There is also a fameless band named "Tek Noir"

There has been a bunch of glass tops out on eBay lately. (Hope I don't get in trouble for saying that.) Just make sure you get one with the right mounting bracket setup.

I know this is a stale thread and you might already have found out ...
but there was a front bolt pattern change around 1988 so the early
C4 tops won't work. Also, I'm not sure how you tell which color
tint is correct for your car. Both my 91s are turquoise body color
and the tops are blue. The last 6 or 7 digits of the VIN stamped in
the frame in the left front corner.
