Looking for members who have knowledge of these scanning tools. If you have used ether of these would you post the pros and cons of them. I do not know much about ether one. I am thinking I should get the Tech 2. From what I have read it can be used on the 92 to 2010 vetts' I am having a problem with a 93 ZR1. Not getting the 405 HP and not throwing a engine DTC code. I have no vacuum leaks so it must be electrical. I repaired a vacuum leak under the plenum and while under there I made sure the actuators were working.
Thanks for your input.

Personally, i would use a Tech 2. Btw, a possible mechanical cause of your problem is the throttle body. Marc H found mine did not open fully, even with the pedal to the floor. Had him recondition the TB, problem solved. Apparently, this isn’t uncommon as the cars get older.

It looks like your in Arkansas and Marc H appears to be in Illinois. Did you take your car to him or did you ship the TB to him?. More about the problem I am having. Some time back I got a Code 22 which is a throttle positioning switch. After clearing the fault it has not returned. Now I get no engine codes. But when I first start the car and the engine is not wormed yet it runs real ruff. Some times when it is given gas before the temp reaches about 170 it might back fire. After it's worm it seems do much better almost perfect. But still no 405.......Thanks

I moved to St. Louis this summer Andy need to update my profile. I shipped the car to Marc because it needed other service, then took Amtrak to Chicago and drove it back. Other members have just shipped the TB to him.

There'd be little advantage to a T2 vs a T1 for working on a ZR1 other than a screen which will display more lines of data.

Some T2s, especially the Chinese knock-offs, may not have the proper software so, if you buy at T2, make sure the software package which comes with it supports OBD as well as OBDII systems.

Thanks I will do that. The one I am looking at is American made. The reason I am thinking of getting the tech 2 It can also be used on my 07.

Thanks again Ellis
