Currently I have speedo healer that I believe is causing issues with my Cruise control. I want to fix the speedo the right way.

I saw this on ebay. These appear to fix the speedo with gears versus another box to "heal" the signal. Has anyone used them? http://www.ebay.com/itm/231641706490?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

How hard is it to change these gears?

I have never heard anyone who has had good luck with those boxes. Changing the gears is not too bad, you will need to removed the exhaust, drive shaft and the speed sensor, remove a retainer and slip the gear off the tail shaft. Some folks can remove their drive shaft without disconnecting the C-beam, I wasn't so lucky. Marc H. sells the gears you need.

Much depends on your rear axle ratio, if 3.73 or "less" numerically it's a single easily changed VSS driven. If it's 3.90 and up it takes a "pair", drive in the transmission and driven on the VSS>

The eBay link you posted doesn't mention anything specific so maybe after the "buy" you need to tell them what it is you have but 3.73 you don't need the "pair" like they mention.

It appears that Marc no longer has the 3.73 single gear. Marc can do the 3.90 & the 4.10 only it appears OR that's all that's advertised!!

I think for the 3.73 you just need a 43 tooth driven gear.. where as the 3.90 or 4.10 you need the smaller custom drive gear and different driven gear

this might help

45 tooth for the VSS for a 3.73 using the OE drive and of course same dimension tires to match the 315/35

The eBay link does mention to specify axle ratio when doing the order.

Interesting experience with the 3.07 - I'll email you

I have 3.73's. At least that is what I was told.

Confirm you have the 3.73 and if your tires are 315/35 OR very close dimensionally you need the "hardest to find 45 tooth driven" I had a few but I've got I believe just one now and a 3.73 gear new in the box so it's saved for it.
