The USPTO is reporting two trademark filings, (numbers 86850510 and 86850500) by General Motors, one that described as “Corvette E-Ray” while the other is just “E-Ray.” The filings apply specifically for “Motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles.”
In the spirit of jumping to conclusions, we’ll say there’s no way these trademarks don’t point to the possibility of GM developing an electric, or maybe even hybrid-powered Corvette.

Not surprising. Take the LaFerrari or the 918...Awesome hybrids right there!

it's the quickest and easiest path to 4 wd and needed to plant much more HP.
I learned from my turbo car, more is NOT always faster as spinnin ain't winnin
with the La Ferrari, P1 Mclearen, Pooch 918, and the NSX all following the gas hp + electic model, it's a proven path to performance.
GM should leverage their volt R&D and park a big ol electic motor up front
by like the exotics, keep the battery array really small, all this stuff adds weight!!!
my personal fav is the Jag CX-75 prototype, ditch the IC engines and go turbine!! smaller, lighter, and relatively efficient. but heat management of the hot exhaust blast and the skriek of the turbines remain challenges for the average consumer to accept this technology.
mr fusion is not far behind (Roads, we don't need roads!!!)

Seems to be the direction everybody is headed with the flagship sports car models.
It solves a few problems- torque blending to get the power when you need it and it helps to meet emissions goals by reducing the load on the internal combustion engine when it pollutes the most (lugging) by adding a bunch of stored energy from the electric propulsion.
plus it's a bunch of stored energy that can be used whenever you want to go faster.

If you're going to have a halo super car in your line up it's got to be a hybrid to compete. It wouldn't surprise me at all. They've already got the technology. Why not use it?
