I have a set of "new" gears (over 15 years old but never installed). Included is a new crush sleeve and pinion nut.
They came with a '91 ZR-1 that I bought, but never installed them. I was told they are the Viper Super Dana 44's, but I have no way to verify.
Price is $300 plus shipping. If you know someone in central/east Texas that can inspect and verify to your satisfaction what they are, feel free to have them contact me. Or I can forward to you the stampings and other ID on the gear set.

Measure the outer diameter of the ring gear and confirm either a 216mm or a 226mm dimension OR a number very close to either of those #'s. That would indicate a good bit regarding the package, you might want to see if the ring gear bolts are 3/8 or maybe 7/16. There should be a 5 digit number on each gear - you could post those also.

Hey Leroy....Yes you can post the findings or send me a PM.....I'm not to familiar with what I would be looking for to verify but I can show my mechanic to see if they are authentic ..
If they are I would be interested ..
Thank you...

These are the numbers stamped on the ring gear:
03 15 98 (mfg date?)
Dana G 48761
P8L165 41 10
28
Etched on the ring gear is the number "5".
Ring gear outside diameter (gear side) is ~ 8.75".
Ring gear outside diameter (bolt side) is ~ 8.125". This includes the bevel.
Ring gear retaining bolts are 3/8" NF, 10 each, right hand thread.
These are the numbers stamped on the pinion gear:
Dana G 48409
V1L 351 41 10 A
04 02 98 (date?).
Hope the above helps everyone identify this gear set.

Leroy, thanks for the email yesterday. Yes, I'll take them as soon as I can confirm they will work with my diff.
On edit: I have decided to pass on these at this time.

Can anyone on the forum give me a price for 410 viper gears? Also you need to purchase an install kit either way.....From what I understand the part alone is really not that much new......Gears are one part you do not want to buy used...

Our own "Dr" Phil - Jagdpanzer gave me the following list when Wazoo did my gears. I can tell you that I am enjoying them, best mod to really enjoy driving the car. It will pull with whatever gear you are in. I got the gears from Just Differentials but they are also available from Mopar as listed below. Just check prices, I hit it right 6 months or so ago with a good sale and free shipping. Good luck

Google Toms Differentials or call him at (208) 265-8111 tell him you need Viper HD 4:10 gears. Cruise his on line catalog too.
He has them listed as "Thick"

That was my polo green 91 ZR-1 that I included the gears when I sold it to Lee in 2001. From what I remember there were two sources for buying the 4.10s that fit ZR-1 diffs. one of them whined when they were put in. The other one didn't. That's the one I bought (non-whining). I think these were the ones recommended and used by Jim Van Dorn. But that was 15 years ago, don't hold me to it.
Sold the 91 ZR-1
Bought a Viper.
Lost Viper in divorce.
Bought 94 ZR-1
Sent ZR-1 to Mark H.
Now I don't miss the viper (or the wife)
