Jerry,
Just sold a bunch of NOS one but I have a set of used. I'll take a look.
Tell us more about the reconditioned cylinder heads?
I have quite a few heads, some of which are new. The problem in selling used heads is, most customers want them ready to install, or need to get a comfort level as to the condition, "is the valve job good, how are the seals, etc." I can't answer those question, because I have not good way to know the true condition. A few are ported, some were special, never having had the secondary port throttle machine work done. So, I am trying to standardize the condition, leaving only the configuration to describe, i.e. port work, no secondary throttles, new, used and of course the model year.
What we are doing:
New Heads: Making them all complete to the same level, cam bore plugs, bolts, secondary system, etc.
Used Heads: disassemble completely, clean, inspect all parts for serviceability, including all threads & flatness. Verify spring height & pressure to spec, valve job, replace valves, guides & seats if needed. Verify valve stem height is correct. Reassemble secondary port throttles with Loctite 262 on screws. New valve stem seals, confirm all oiling passages are fully functional, new cam cover filters, paint cam cover.
Each head, new and used, will be packaged in a custom, wooden box with cam cover bolts, new cam bore plugs (4) and a package of new cam cover bolt seals(24). The wooden crate is made to fit inside of a corrugated box for shipping. (UPS charges a LOT to ship a bare wooden box).
The objective is a more concise listing of heads in stock which are ready to ship and of a known condition. We can't warranty the heads because we have no control over the manner in which they are handled, installed and used after they leave our custody. However, a customer will have the assurance and confidence in knowing it has been inspected, reconditioned and is ready for installation. That's a lot better than just assuming.

I saw those when you offered them. That was a very good deal for someone. Thanks for taking a look through your stash for the used ones.

It's a budget thing Jeff. New ones are worth more than that, but if I spend very much over $0.50, I can buy stainless. Wouldn't be original but SS isn't a bad way to go on the recond heads.
