My 91 has developed a miss at about 5,000 RPM. I have changed injectors with Accells, new plug wires last fall, new plugs, fuel pressure is in the 40-45 psi range. Secondary's removed with Hailbeck chip. Are my coils going? I think they are original. What else could be causing this problem. TIA

I had the same problem. I used a timing light and pointed it at the valve cover to watch the flashing. I moved the timing light conductor from spark plug wire to spark plug wire. I could easily see the miss on two cylinders. This happened to be two cylinders that shared the same coil. Guess what? New coil pack and problem gone!

Ok, I still have a miss. It comes when I am pushing it hard. Generaly around 5k, but it has come at other RPM's. I have replaced all coils, and plugs. I have a fuel preasue gauge and it never drops below 40 psi. If I stay on it when it stars to miss i get a code 31 (camshaft sensor). Could the camshaft sensor be causing the miss and it only sets a code if I stay on it? Or is the miss causing the sensor to go bonkers because if the erratic RPM's. I am stuck and need some help from 'da brothers'.
Thanks
Chris

The camshaft sensor can cause these symtoms, replace that first since it triggers the SES light.

Really haven't ever found a Corvette part that is cheap, the LT5 follows suit!
Bet that will correct your issue though......

That makes this thread even more interesting for those of us that have NO Secondaries :handshak:

Is there a chance that power TO, or ground FROM CPS is retarded?

My 90 did the same thing kind of. Going down road and all of the sudden miss, miss, miss, check engine light comes on and code 31 is set. Scanned it to confirm code and it was a faulty cam sensor. Replaced sensor and problem fixed.
