Looked though the various threads but didn't see exactly what my issue is:

my passenger speakers occasionally pop/crackle. not all the time and cant consistently reproduce it to see what the cause is. is this what happens just before they fail? as far as I know the speakers/amps have never been out of the car/rebuilt but I have not removed them to make sure.

Sounds like the amps to me. Dr. Don's can fix you up or maybe you can find someone in your area that can fix them.

More than likely the amps capacitors are going bad. Common problem on older amps like these. I was able to replace the electrolytic caps and my amps worked again. You can get new amps if desired.

was the amps. trying to head back to the junk yard for bose amps this weekend. will try and grab some spares if anyone needs any.
