It might not be able to keep up with the current load with EVERYTHING turned on. High beams, AC blasting, aftermarket sound system hogging the rest ... I think the stock alternator is 140 amps, but 108 should be enough for daily use. The trick is to make sure the battery terminal voltage is above 12.6 volts under full load.

Concur. and C4s are Battery whores. Full 12.69 volts all the time or stranges things happen.

I believe the stock alternator is 124 amps. I recently had to replace one on my '92.

As an example, fluctuations in battery voltage are compensated for by ECM modifying injector PW. However, you'd like to be at the power level where the vehicle and systems operate at optimally.

The build sheet for my 88 called for a 120 amp unit. I would think the later cars would be at least 124.
