Tips for B&B install needed

I have installed my B&B exhaust and the passenger side muffler wont tuck up enough.

Are there any aftermarket brackets that are shorter the muffler can hang on. I can get the driver side perfect but the passenger side just wont go any higher.

Also, does anyone know how hard I should torque down the clamps on the pipes? I took the car for a drive. It sounded bad *** but when I got back I took a look at the muffs and they are now crooked as hell, haha. Back to work tomorrow to realign and tighten the clamps.

Of the aftermarket muffs I've seen, the hanger attached to the muff can be adjusted via heating and reshaping or cutting and re-welding to adjust the height as needed.

That said, the pipe leading into the muff can be twisted around a little bit which will result in angling the tips of the muff up or down maybe a quarter inch or so. You don't want to over do that as the pipes seen from the rear will look cockeyed if over done, but a little tweak can make a difference in the finished angle of the tips.

Once you get them looking the way you want them, a single spot weld on the joints will keep the pipes from twisting. A spot weld in conjunction with the clamps will allow you to change things later by grinding off the weld and removing the clamp(s). (Any good custom muffler shop can handle the job.)

As for tightening the hanger bracket, there's not much to be gained by over-tightening, and too loose and you'll likely have rattling somewhere, if the clamp doesn't fall off all together! Snug is good, but you can get maybe 1/8" adjustment there as well - or at least I was able to.

Those brackets on the rear of the car need deep sockets but you cant get on them because of the tips coming out of the muffler. pita. I managed to tighten them down some with a wrench.

I guess maybe I will let an exhaust shop work on bringing the muff sup a bit more. I don't know how to weld.

Anyone have a recommendation for a shop in Houston?

This would be my suggestion. Did you go with the resonator or the X Pipe ?
