There a link in my thread on the -other- site in the ZR-1 section.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/FLYTYM/get-attachment2.jpg

Yikes!! :jawdrop:

Looks like there is another C4 next to the Z facing the other way. Wonder if that was a Z too or a regular C4? Hopefully they had insurance!

EDIT: After looking at the original post from the link given on that "other" forum, looks like there are a total of 4 (possibly 5?) ZR-1's there that were lost! And apparently they didn't have insurance.

I've edited the original pics with arrows showing where I believe the ZR-1's are (the LT5 plenum is the tell-tale sign):

so are the LT5's still ok? Does the aluminum melt in a fire?

I think the intense heat will change the metallurgical properties of the aluminum, possibly rendering it more brittle - IOW, I probably wouldn't put any of those parts back into service. Might be suitable for shop art though:cry:

Man thats just depressing. Yeah I dont think the internals would survive either. Not with that kind of heat .

That is plain sad!

But something just does not seem right. Call me crazy but given the amount of damage why are the buildings next to the ash pile showing little or no damage? It seems that a fire that intense would have caused more damage to them? Maybe I am just seeing a conspiracy when there is not one.

I think the Guys lives in Georgia. From what I recall something happened and his garage burned and destroyed all the ZR-1 plus others. I think only one ZR-1 was saved because it was not in that garage at the time.

the smaller building could have been a different material and did not burn down, on the far side in the top picture, looks like it is damaged, butt he concentration of the flames/heat was on the cars
