Complete collapse and disfigurement.
I was going to make an aluminum intake duct, and secure it both sides with silicone couplers, but finding them in 6" is proving to be a bit of a challenge.
I have seen some cars with the saamco hose, and I think I may just grab one of those, and was curious where the best place to purchase them from is.
I am also interested in grabbing a swt of headers for it until I can get around to piddling with the spare engine, and build a turbo kit for it.
Suggestions? TIA
I am also looking to upgrade the fuel system in anticipation of building the turbo kit, and my car has the apparently common seperation issue. Are the fuel tanks common between the lt-1 cars, and ours, or is it specific to the zr-1? Best place to procure them?

Marc Haibeck sells a $40 solution for your collapsing Air Duct: http://www.zr1specialist.com/HAT%20Web/products/hoops.htm
I would suggest sporthoses.com for the SAMCO Air Duct but I'm sure others sell them: http://www.sporthoses.com/kits/auto/chevrolet/1505 :hello:

Thanks on the first, but mine is completely disfigured, and I wouldn't use it even with a support. It is just plain mangled.
The intake itself is in bad shape as well, so I was contimplating purchasing a slp one to replace that as well.
3-4 weeks, I may just have to build my own.
Thanks for the links and info.

I'd call sporthoses.com and ask for Jamie - he may have one in stock.
Kurt White probably has one as well: http://www.whiteracingproducts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10_45
I'm sure one of the brothers here have a spare they would let go for a reasonable price. You might want to post a WTB thread in Parts For Sale/Wanted.

Thanks Scott, Sorry, I was referring to the lead time on the headers. I will definately call them on the intake tube tomorrow. I found them as cheap as 147, but I would rather pay more and go through a reputable source, which is why I asked for the opinions

I don't know if it's still available, but a couple years ago I simply bought a new duct. It was much stiffer as it wasn't 20 years old. I also put the Haibeck hoops in, but it was quite stiff on its own. IIRC it was like $20 give or take.

I have a blue Samco intake duct that I'd sell for $125 shipped. It's got a little rub in the top surface through the lettering, but it's in good shape otherwise.

Shoot me your paypal, and I will forward it to you. I ordered the black cooling hose kit, and duct, but it will be awhile before it gets here as nobody had it in stock.
LMK,
thanks

Nothing yet, but I haven't really looked. I was waiting for one of the experts to chime in and let me know the particulars, whether or not it is specific to the z or if I could use any c4 tank.

Fuel tank is not ZR-1 specific.

Yeah last time I checked the tank is not ZR-1 specific its the aluminum rear bumper and gas tank cradle that is ZR-1 specific.
But your duel Fuel pump assembly is ZR-1 specific.
There are a couple of ZR-1 twin turbos out there already one was built by South Georgia corvette.
The other I can't recall who did it. I know theres threads somewhere here about the Turbo cars.

Didn't Ron Handlesman (sp?) do one using Raptor turbos?
