Default Tire Pressure Sensors

I believe I have these in my other stock rims and tires.

I noticed there is a new set on ebay for $300 with a ton of time left.

Would NCRS deflate your tires to test them? Also, is it safe if one of those things lets go inside your tire at 100 mph? I would think it would shred the tire.

I don't run with them in my car. Now, the new tire sensors in the C5, I feel are alot safer.

Thoughts on these or guesses on what they will bid to? I'm thinking $400.

Can the OEM WHEEL AIR TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS be repaired?? And would NCRS deflate your tires to see if they work??????????????

I would be surprised if they wind up being some of the coveted ZR-1 parts for the reasons you mentioned.
As to the safety issue, I suspect it can happen, however I believe the fear is overblown.

No judge is going to deflate tires at a NCRS meet. Most judges will ask the owner to open doors, remove air cleaner lids or whatever, but nothing is done that would possibly damage the car or make it unusable.

There is a operations verification at the start of the judging process, but tire sensors cannot be checked on these cars like they can on C5s and C6s. Keep your money in your pocket for other things that may be needed.
