Default Q Header or B&B first???

Mine is a 90 ZR-1 with 2-1/2" Borla catback(?) - the resonator looks stock, how-some-ever.

Which would give the bigger 'bang for the buck', assuming the top end was ported and you could do only one (headers vs. 3" B&B) at a time?

I would think headers. What sez U experts?

Do the headers first; pipes have to fit them.

Headers and a ported top end are the way to go. Then figure out an exhaust.

Just FYI, I had a ported top end on a stock exhaust. Changing the exhaust yielded ~25whp gain. Then adding headers added another 20whp.

The stock '90 system is pretty bad, especially the resonator. But if you have a Borla system, even if it's not your fave, it is likely better than the stock system. So I'd say headers. But if it's a stock exhaust, I'd say exhaust.

Veddy intorestink! I wonder what the results would be if the order was reversed? But, like you said, since I have some/all of a Borla system, coupled with the group SW purchase in progress, headers now makes a lot of sense; power wise.

Digressing/hijacking my own threads a bit...Sound wise?

I have the Borla, but on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it "6"

I've heard the Corsa on the LT5s from the outside...definitely a sound of it's own - not what I'm looking for, but diversity is a good thing.

I luv the B&B sound with the LT5.

I'd like to hear the Flowmaster system behind the LT5 to compare with the B&B.

Thank you (and everyone) for your thoughts. It would be very difficult to get up to speed on these Zs w/o the wealth of expertise residing on the Registry.
