Re: haibeck chip
I have both DRM and Haibeck Chips. I feel the car runs better with the Haibeck chip.
All I did was disconect the battery and swap chips. I think Haibeck recomends 10 minutes with the battery disconected.

Re: haibeck chip
i do my own proms so i'm not much help. i do loosely base mine off the Haibeck. i think he's got a real good handle on it IMO. you could do worse. if i was buying one i'd step up for his i believe.

thanks chris[/QUOTE] If it is just an exhaust you have, it probably will not change anything. If you have headers, porting, and custom exhaust you would need him to tweak the program. After you do these mods you can send the chip back to him to be reprogramed. Welcom to the money pit it takes to mod the ZR-1, but you gotta love it.

Re: haibeck chip
I ordered a replacement chip rather then send mine off to be reprogrammed. The reason was with my mods he recommended I use no less than 91 octane fuel. When I take a trip I will take the stock chip with me in case I run into fuel issues. After my porting and his chip what a difference.

Re: haibeck chip
I just put one of his chips in my car,I cant believe how much better the car runs.I got the basic chip, fans on early, eliminated key on and the POS 1-4 shift.A question here, why is this chip only $280 shipped while everybody else cost $400+.There cant that much of a difference between this one and the rest.As far as installation goes, piece of cake.Disconnect battery, remove 2 10mm nuts, pull ECM out of bracket, turn it over, remove 4 1/4?mm screws, pry up on cover, depress clips on sides of chip and it pops up.By the time you get this done its time to hook up the battery and go.

Re: haibeck chip
Z51JEFF has the details down... here is a pic of what you will be removing once you get to the "chip" (blue thingy) itself>>
With the Haibeck chip I saw improvement in idle, elimination of any hesitation and of course the elimination of the 1-4 pox
