ZR1 brake lines
Hi, just want to know if the zr1 brake lines are the same as any standard C4, hi have brembos with steel lines, and a friend wants to know where to order just steel braided brake hoses to fit the standard ZR1 calipers in his car.

Re: ZR1 brake lines
This is open to debate but I would say not exactly. The fronts are the same but the backs on a true ZR1 brake line are just a little longer than a standard C-4. Ever noticed that many manufacturers will say all C-4 Corvettes ( exc. ZR1) ? The extra length in the rear line on Z lines makes installation easier. Having said all of this, it is possible to route the C-4 rears to fit. Confused ?

Re: ZR1 brake lines
I just did this upgrade a month ago. I actually used lines that said
non-ZR-1. The lines were Russells and they fit just fine. No problems. |

Do you know what is the offset on the standard C4 wheel, or are you just guessing? |

There probably is a line difference, but it is negligable in the aftermarket hoses. Just make sure you get them pointed away from the tire when you tighten them down. |

Re: ZR1 brake lines
Just a FWIW on the s/s brake hoses......I agree with Jeff about the closeness & how ya gotta rotate them. When I put mine on I didn't like how close they still were to the rear wheels so my soloution was to get some old fashioned rubber fuel line and put it over my rear lines and tie them back with some zip ties. 2yrs and no marks on the fuel lines @ the rears. It don't look pretty...but it gives me peace of mind.
