Hydro Boost?
Hello all,
My 1990 ZR-1 has a tired booster, I believe, as the pedal is pretty stiff to come to a stop. I've seen some older posts about some guy selling a hydroboost kit, but nothing about how it's actually installed, what parts, etc, and I'm wondering if that's still a thing, or if it was just snake oil. Thanks all! |

Re: Hydro Boost?
I have not done it, but I PM'd someone that has, and he absolutely loved it.

Re: Hydro Boost?
Do you know of any write ups? I don't mind paying money for quality parts, but when someone is going to take a parts store pump and mark it up 10x, I am less keen on it

Re: Hydro Boost?
Hey Jeff,
Yeah I noticed that he talked about how good it was, but never really answered any questions, which I didn't like. I was hoping to find a write up on how to DIY it from specific parts from other cars, because I can't see paying 800$ for a hydroboost kit that cost no more than 250$ and requires no labor to make, just a run to Oreillys. |

Re: Hydro Boost?
Here is an article from Power Brake Service.. http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/brakes/0601sc-hydro
if their kit is a bolt in for $425 with all hoses and fittings needed it may not be too bad of a deal Not sure I need $250 worth of Powder coating on it EDIT.. I just looked and hoses are $200+ for a set, yeah I think it could be DIY. I bet that booster I linked would work too

Re: Hydro Boost?
I must have deleted the PM, I can't find it now. I think it was someone on CF, but it could have been FB as well. It was a while back, and I was asking more just out of curiosity. He really liked it and said it made a big difference and was a fairly easy swap. Don't remember much more than that.
