Default OBX Headers a heat concern?

I am having stainless OBX headers installed on my '90 Z. Has anyone had any heat issues with these? Seems like the original heat shields are there for a reason. Also, does anyone know for certain if I will need an O2 extension cable? Thanks so much!

I have Watson headers and they are Ceramic coated which helps regarding heat

I’m running OBX headers and cats. I have noticed additional heat buildup inside the car but not to the point where it has caused any issues. If I had to do it again I would have them coated and add some reflective heat shielding in the bellhousing and trans tunnel area under the car. And yes you will need an O2 extension on the passenger side only.

All headers are a heat concern. If you can swing it I suggest getting them ceramic or Jet hot coated. If not wrap them. You are correct those heat shields are there for a reason. Yes you need extensions for at least the passenger side and prob a new dipstick seal. GC

I have OBX headers without cats and no coating. I noticed a slight increase in heat but it's not a big deal. I hardly notice it. I just have the heat shields that attach to the floor.
As others have stated, you will need a passenger side extension.

Appreciate the response...could you possibly tell me if this is the correct extension? I don't trust that Ebay knows if it fits or not. And I also can't get a good look at the plug on my car. Thanks!

You will also need Paul Workmans dipstick relocation bracket (patent pending).

No that extension will not work. Its a single wire and our O2s are 3 wire heated sensors. I may have an extension or could make one. Someone else may also.

Hmmm coming from AZ and daily driving two ZR-1s I will have to disagree with my Minnesota colleague. Wrap em at least. It's harder when everything is installed.
