Default AC Not Blowing Cold

Hello Everyone, my 91 decided to stop blowing cold yesterday when I needed it here in the ATL. Last time I used it, blew cold all summer last year.
I saw in a post where it was suggested to disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 minutes to reset the ac components. I did that and it now blows cold (for now anyways). My question is:
Should I be looking for something else as to why it stopped blowing cold in the first place? At least I know it has R12 freon (and not getting a code)
Thanks for you help in advance!

I always thought something in the C68 Controller caused that to happen. when I had my 89 (with 91 dash) this happened when I needed it to work. I am sort of happy the AC in my ZR-1 is the C60, for that reason

When you disconnected the battery, it erased the stored fault code. If it happens againain, push both the up and down fan speed buttons and hold them down until the display shows -00.. then press the fan button to recoverer the error code. I'm betting you will get a -09, low freon..

I agree this is the most likely scenario. Had the same happen. Found a small leak at the high side schrader valve.
Check the pressures and bring them up to spec if you get the code 9. Sniff it for leaks. Depending on ambient temp, if you are running on the low side you could have the system shut down and get the code.

Thanks guys for the input on my AC situation. Worked ok again yesterday so hope it is isolated. My understanding is it is best for the AC if you use once in a while rather than not - I went over a year before I turned it on last week as I always drive it on nice days and without the t-tops. But it does get rather warm here in GA! Thanks Again!

Don't be surprised if you pull the plenum to find your compressor electrical connectors cracked possibly causing intermittent conditions.

Thanks for all the reply posts on my ac problem - it is low freon and when I disconnect the negative battery post it only erases the 9 code it pulls. From a suggestion, I pressed the up/down buttons on the dash(same time) and than the fan button in the middle - a 9 code appears.
Now back to fixing the low freon problem and why it leaked. Will use suggestions posted. Thanks again!

Marc H. Also suggests checking the high side schrader valve those are another source of a leak
