Default O2 sensors

After having gone through a head gasket failure/rebuild, I am thinking of replacing O2 sensors before taking fuel ratio readings at 1,000 rpm intervals. and having Marc touch up the PROM chip.

Any suggestion/preference for O2 sensors? Is this another component I have to watch for and avoid "made in China"?

Avoiding Made in China may be harder than expected. You can rule out ACDelco, Standard Motor Products, Denso, Delphi, etc.

For about the last 15 years, I've used Denso O2Ses in my LT5. In fact, I have Denso O2s in most of our cars. I feel they work better and longer than either Bosch or Delpi sensors.

Also, on using O2Ses to take "fuel ratio" readings...keep in mind that you cannot use narrow-band sensor readings to measure how the system is fueling in PE because narrow band sensors are not accurate at any AFR other than stoichiometric. To test power enrichment at WOT, you need a wideband.

Unfortunately, we don't have left and right bank tables for WOT tuning so it will optimize one side (the one w the WBO2)and not the other. The PE fuel mods are done in 500rpm increments.

Log some data then look at the LTFT (block-learn) values for both banks.

Put the wideband in the side which runs the more lean. Do your PE cal. You'll know that the other side is never going to be more lean.

I replaced mine with Bosch I think. I've got a question that just boggles the mind,why are Chinese products just crap? I would have no problem buying Chinese parts if they weren't crap but jeez,it's nothing but total crap. Now,back on topic,can't remember but one of the 02 plugs is extremely difficult to get to and plug in.

Received a pair of Bosch sensors. It says "assembled in USA". What does that mean? Still better than "made in China"?
