Default Fleet complete

I was fortunate enough to acquire my last toy to feel like I have the best of all worlds with my love of cars. 55 Chevrolet PP 3 speed OD 411 rear end. Chevy's first performance car, my zr-1 (which I drove from WA state to the gathering last May) and my just just purchased 2011 cts-v with 6 speed manual transmission. Ohhhh life is good

Very nice. There is something unique about cruising around in a 55-57 "shoebox". I have a 57 2-door hardtop(Sports Coupe) 283 PP, Powerglide, 3.36 rear. I've always been interested in those 3 speeds with the OD units. That would really help with cruise rpm with the 4.11's.
I rev about 2800rpm@70mph and the cars last longer last long drive was about 1200 miles and netted 18mpg for that trip. Your setup allows the fun of the lower gearing, while at the same time allowing for decent cruise rpm.

My 55 I purchased October 14 1967. I was 19 and the first car I owned. The 411 with OD does 2500 at 70mph. Great, easy cruising. All three cars are uniquely different and I love them all.

The lt-5 is still most fun to drive. The cts-v is defiantly faster and it is a beautiful car but it is just doesn't have the smooth, free winding feel that my z has.
