Mystery Fire Wall Mounting Stud
Can anyone identify the purpose of the small mounting stud circled below? Its located on the firewall just inboard of the steering column.

Re: Mystery Fire Wall Mounting Stud
They put it there to confuse engineers as they know no one else would even notice.

Re: Mystery Fire Wall Mounting Stud
How about on an A4 car it's used inside the car to anchor the park/lock cable behind the accelerator cable bracket? If you look at the pedal linkage I posted in another thread you can see the perforation for it next to the pedal bracket studs on the plate. Is the angle deceptive?
Pure speculation but I did check eBay for a park/lock cable and I see an appropriate clamp. http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-96-CORVET...-/121292195255 Here's a routing image from SPO http://parts.nalleygmc.com/showAssem...riveLine=11463 Last edited by WVZR-1; 08-11-2015 at 07:03 AM. |
