Default If you found out that your Z...

EDIT:
Guys - recourse directed at PO isn't the question.

Question is, would you WANT to know the damages, that arre on paper, APART from what you could find...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..., after you've had it a few years, had taken a hit, would you investigate?

Besides digging deeper IN THE CAR, would you start pulling up paper?

I looked at the frame front and back, and body panels lined up fine, and I was satisfied. But when I did my interior, I found glass in the back under the carpet, and then saw the buckle in the fiberglass tub, in front of the gas tank. It had taken a good hit.

Still it tracks good, and there's no kinks in the frame...

But now I'm finding more glass up front. W/S glass, under the hood latch mount P side.

What would you do with yours???

Shrade:

I can understand you being upset about it, especially if the previous owner didn't mention it when you bought the car.
However, that being said, if you've owned the car longer than just a few weeks then the onus in on you for not performing due diligence prior to the buying of the car.
What shows up on Carfax?

Just drive it and enjoy it. It's not an investment. If you like it, keep it. A wreck doesn't make it a bad car. Frames get fixed daily.

At this point its yours, I would just continue to enjoy it and drive the wheels off it. That being said I would have investigated it when I bought it due to the body changes sometimes that's a sure sign of some kind of damage. If repaired correctly it should pose no issues.

If it worries you have it checked out for proper alignments or contact the previous owner if you still can and ask them.

I get it. My car has a perfect Carfax and only 16K, but I noticed when I went looking on the door for the production date that the sticker with that info isn't there. The other one with the tire info is there, but that's not specific to the car and could have been replaced. Then when I pulled the door panel, the foam insulator wasn't there. Bottom line, I think my driver's side door has been replaced at some point. Which makes me wonder what happened.

I don't like it either, but we own them now, right? Let's enjoy them, cause they're not going to be running across the lawn at Pebble Beach anytime soon, anyway!

Mine was repainted and the front skid bar was a bit shiny and un-scraped for a 20 year old car. Seems fine- I think it got a new nose sometime before 1999.

My last C4 was repainted an entirely different color (Dark Rose metallic) from another year as 95's didn't have that particular purple- and very well done as even behind the trim and everything was purple. You couldn't tell- except the orig paint code was black, that it didn't have the black paint in the turn signal corner trim. Well, to keep it on topic- I actually located the original owner (an older lady across town) and she denied ever having a vette..hmmm... yeah right, I had her name and address on an extended warranty contract that was still in the owner's manual pouch...

I think it had been wrecked and she used the insurance money as an opportunity to change the color. I did not care that it had been wrecked, I just really wanted to know the story of how it had a color change. I think it must have been a pretty big wreck to pretend to have never owned that car. Even her facebook page was all purple everything-I know it was hers.

It was a good cheap LT1 vette that I sold for what i had into it. I had no animosity, but still, no closure other than I know some chick had it painted purple.
