Missing around 5K - ZR-1 Net Registry Forums

My 91 has developed a miss at about 5,000 RPM. I have changed injectors with Accells, new plug wires last fall, new plugs, fuel pressure is in the 40-45 psi range. Secondary's removed with Hailbeck chip. Are my coils going? I think they are original. What else could be causing this problem. TIA

I had the same problem. I used a timing light and pointed it at the valve cover to watch the flashing. I moved the timing light conductor from spark plug wire to spark plug wire. I could easily see the miss on two cylinders. This happened to be two cylinders that shared the same coil. Guess what? New coil pack and problem gone!

The camshaft sensor can cause these symtoms, replace that first since it triggers the SES light.

That part ain't cheep, but I think that is what I am going to need to do. Thanks Z06scentair! I am afraid I might me missing more than $5k when this is all done.
