Re: Clutch pedal safty relay
You can narrow down the possible causes by doing the following. When the problem is present, this is when you have the key in the crank position and nothing is happening, observe these things. Look at the ?Security? lamp in the cluster. If the lamp is on there is a VATS security lockout in progress. If the security lamp is out look at the volt meter. If the voltage goes down when making the transition from ignition key on to crank, the starter solenoid is shorted. If the voltage stays the same or goes up a little when making the transition from ignition on to crank, there is an open circuit or high resistance in the starter solenoid circuit.
Best of luck. |

Re: Clutch pedal safty relay
Marc I really think it has something to do with the clutch unless you push the clutch as hard as you can even when it hits the floor it won't start can you disconnect that safty on the pedal ??

Re: Clutch pedal safty relay
That's easy. Remove the hush panel from under the left dash. It will be easy to see a black connector about the size of a match box with two 10 gauge purple and yellow wires. Disconnect it and insert a jumper to bypass the clutch switch.
Before you do that make sure the floor mat is not bunched up under the clutch pedal. More good luck. |
