Push Fans?
does anyone know or has anyone ever installed a Push Fan on their Rad? I am thinking about getting one that will push the air through the Rad at the same time the Stock fans suck it through so that the Temp stays down, the thing is I want to setup a switch in the car so that I can turn it on and off when ever I want and not the computer. does anyone know of such a kit or has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Re: Push Fans?
Its not recommended and probably will cause problems without results. There are other methods to coolant temp reduction. Are your temps below 30 mph a major problem? What conditions are you driving with? Whats you objective?

Re: Push Fans?
Shaun,
One thing I have been looking into was the pusher fan that came in the c4 prior to 90. The cowl seems to have the same mounting location, and why not use a factory part? A small manual switch and relay would allow you to turn this on if needed. If you are getting hot, and I mean about 210, then you might want to pull your radiator and do a complete cleaning of the radiator and core support. Corvettes are like carp. They are bottom feeders and tend to hoover the ground. As a result they sure do suck up a lot of garbage and dirt. It all ends up packed into the bottom couple rows of the radiator. Don't be tempted to just pull it back and flush it. Pull it completely out and flush it from the back side of the radiator. You will be amazed at what comes out of the space between the fins. |
