Default Some like it hot?

I've had my '91 for several years and driving in all kinds of Texas weather.

Today I popped the hood after work and driving home on a low 90 degree day. I put my hand on the ECM and just noted it it was hot- I never noticed it as being "hot" before. It was similar in temperature like the brake booster.

Now, I know that the ECM is under the hood and with headers, my under hood temp is "healthy."

Is there a concern that too much heat will cause my ECM to fail? Is this a issue and if so, what can I do to keep the ECM cooler?

Bill, I think what is acting up is your OCD. If its the same temp as the booster I would say its simply ambient under hood temperatures. You could always get one of those laser temp gages and compare to other under hood items. Harbor Freight has them pretty cheap. Under hood electronics are designed for high temps I wouldn?t worry.

Thanks and yes, my OCD is on over-drive most days. I can create a worry faster than a 0-60 time.

Are your headers coated?
