Quick wiring question.
I have 94 service manuals but i am troubleshooting a 90 system. Can anyone tell me what computer terminal the engine oil temperature wire goes to?
Thanks in advance |

Re: Quick wiring question.
Here's the schematic from a 90 Preliminary manual so the color code of the wires could be wrong.
The temp. sensor has a 3 wire connector. It appears the sensor is two sensors in one package. One sensor used by the temp. gage and the other one by the ECM. Connector Pin A is a Black wire, is ground via the ECM Red connector pin 16 Connector Pin C is a Dark Green/White wire goes to the oil temp. gage Connector Pin B is a Dark Green wire goes to the ECM Red connector pin 18 To verify the gage works. Disconnect the connector at the sensor Turn ignition On Gage should read High If that's correct Ground Pin C of the connector (Dark Green/White wire) Gage should read Low |

Re: Quick wiring question.
Thanks for the info. Hopefully we can get it solved today. Its the ECM connection. The scan tool says the oil is -38 so the secondaries wont turn on.
