Default Sumitomo HTR Z's?

Anyone running these tires? I am interested in sticking with the Goodyears but want to explore all options. Plus, I need to keep posting to be removed from "greenhorn" status! (only foolin'!)

I have a set that came on the car when I got it - I ran it for a 100 miles seem to be fine (they have 250 miles on them if you are interested) - I changed wheels and put drag radials on.

Got about 4k on mine now. A little rough until they warm up, but they seem to stick OK and are not bad for the price. I'd recommend them for everyday use.

No doubt the Sumi's are a good buy if you are looking for some driving around town treads. The higher performing BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD and Yokohama AVS Sport are also available in ZR-1 sizes. Michelin's Pilot Sport come in the right 275/40ZR17 size for the front, but 335/35ZR17 (Viper size) are the closest size they have for the rears which are slightly more in diameter than the 315/35ZR-17 tire the Zs originally came with.
I just went with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s for my 94. They seemed to me to be the best all around performance tire for the money.

I have had 3 sets of the HTR 35Z's and have had no problems...VERY GOOD price and a competent tire.

I ordered a set today! Thanks so much for all of your help. Going to put them on the original '91 wheels and probably sell my 5 spokes. What are they worth?

It really depends on the condition. Don't forget that I have a local ZR-1 owner in NY interested in them so let me know if you are going to sell them.
