Default California Smog Check

Had to go to a "Test Only" smog check station to register
my 1995 ZR1 with about 60,000 miles. Stock engine, Borla
exhaust. Passed with flying colors, not even close to the
limits.
Don't worry

That's cool!

I was wondering, do you have cats on your exhaust system? Seems to me that NYS & CA are about as strict as it gets & I was curious about your good results.
Thanks,
Tom

Glad to hear it.

However I have to admit that I feel sorry for you guys in Ca. You live in a great state similar to Florida in many ways, but the regulation, politics, and restrictions you endure almost does not make it seem like you are part of the USA anymore. Just remember that unless they take away your ability to cross the border, there are still plenty of freedom loving states you can move to.

Hi Tom
Yes, still have the original cats on.
And Jim,
You don't want to piss off Ahhnold.
And yes the borders are open, especially to the south!

Thanks Ted for taking the time to respond!

I'm starting to just dabble in exploring a bit more growl for my Z & I've been away for along time so all this CARB stuff is new to me. The last vette or hi-performance car for that matter that I owned was waaaay back in the late 70's early 80's. It was a 72 LT-1 & it had dealer installed factory 69 side pipes. I liked the sound.

It is pretty tough out here, one thing we don't have that i am grateful for are those vehicle inspections where they climb over every square inch of your car. The days of owning non compliant cars and paying someone off stopped with the random "test-only center" notices.

btw, Northridge is right up the street Run your Z over to Flame's rest. on Corbin and plummer-Good Friday night cruise in.

Good sense of humor there.

My car has 67,500 miles and flowmasters, chip, RC 205 injectors and passed the Nevada smog check with flying colors! Just do not do as I did the first time I took it in, I forgot to turn the "Full Power" key to normal, the tech did not know the LT5 from LT1 and did not mention the key when it did not pass. I had just purchased the car and I took it home with my tail between my legs. That night while reading the owner's manual, it struck me! I took it back the next day, with the key off, and it passed well within the numbers!

PS: One thing about open boarders, Californians are moving here to Nevada in droves and slowly turning this state into another "Kalifornia"!

Hello John are you satisfied with the RC 205 injectors, do they work better than the factory injectors.

John, what do you mean by "normal"? Arent there just two positions, full power and valet?
