Any suggestions on wax for dark colored cars?
Have a 91 blk/blk Z and a 73 convertible dark blue..
Both paint jobs are in excellent condition...Just use a basic wax from the nearest auto zone.....I am basically satisfied with the results.. Anyone have a favorite wax they use that comes off EASILY for my color Corvettes? Thanks.. |

The meguires NXT wax is very good and easy to remove.
I've recently been using the griots garage products and they provide excellent results. Top of the line products by Wolfgang is very good as well. The choices are endless and seem to provide the same end results. |

It takes quite a bit of time, but if patient, it can come out nicely. The steps are: 1. Wash vehicle thoroughly, dry. 2. Clay bar vehicle. Use good microfiber towel towel to buff off clay. 3. Apply Chemical Guys 'Blacklight Hybrid radial finish' and buff in sections. 4. Apply Chemical Guys 'Hybrid V7,' a spray on and buff, in sections. 5. Apply a thin layer of a good carnauba wax & buff. Mother's Brazilian Carnauba wax works well. The Blacklight really deepens darker colors beautifully. The V7 fills in the micro-gaps. The Brazilian Carnauba makes it mirror-like. Just remember, don't short cut any of the steps - esp. washing and clay baring. Every one of them is important. Also, use a number of good, clean microfiber towels. The Chemical Guys application video is on this link. Here is a go-pro screen shot of the hood driving around. The Weehicle: Hope it helps!
