1990 power steering pressure hose
Just picked up a 1990 Dark Red Metallic/saddle ZR1. 50k miles. Has a leak on the pressure hose coming off the rack. The top part connects to the pump right behind the pulley. It looks like this nut fitting can possibly be gotten to through the open fenestration on the pulley.
Any tips on the best way to replace this hose? Thanks! |

Re: 1990 power steering pressure hose
If Jerrys Gaskets doesn't have one, I would suggest maybe a local hydraulic service shop. Most all truck and farm service centers have the ability to make up just about anything hydraulic hose related.
Good luck! Let us know how you make out. P.

I?ve got the hose.
My question is whether there is a best way to tackle replacing it in those cramped quarters. |

Re: 1990 power steering pressure hose
I had the same issue on my 1991. You may be able to loosen the connection but you probably will not get it on. I used a pulley removal tool to pull the pulley then you can access the pump connection. Now the fun starts. You will need a metric crow foot line wrench set a short extension a swivel and a 24? extension. This will give you the ability to access and loosen the connection on the rack. I had to pull the upper connector to get to the bottom one. One arm access. It takes awhile but is doable. I bought the metric crows foot wrench set on- line from Home Depot for about $30. Hope this helps
