Default Have you noticed?

Have any of you long time ZR-1'ers or market watchers noticed that you just don't see the rarer colors for sale anymore, like you used to? Other than the obvious (that there are fewer of those colors), how come?

As an enthusiast who does not need a ZR-1, but can't help himself, I check out EBay almost as a daily routine for newly listed ZR-1's. I also check out other sites such as our own ZR1.Net's for sale section and Autotrader, etc., every once and a while.

It isn't a knock to more common color ZR's (they are all beautiful), but red or black '90 and '91 ZR-1's were abundantly produced and are always available. I am kind of let down to see the very same ZR-1's listed every time I do a search. In that period of time up until the early/mid 2000's, it wasn't uncommon to see the occasional Black Rose/beige car; a Competition Yellow '94 or '95; a Dark Red metallic or Steel Blue...well you get the picture..

Where have all "these" cars gone? Are the owners holding on to them longer in speculation of future prices? Why don't we see the more uncommon and later year ZR-1's crossing the block very often anymore?

I say "anymore" because other than a few colors, ZR-1's don't seem to be changing owners anymore like they used to.

After editing about 15 times, I hope my post makes sense as far as the question I was trying to ask.

Mee too.... I'm always looking. I'm not sure what I'll find, but I always look.

I never thought about the "rarer colors" but now that you mention it, I'll keep an eye out. My gut tells me that that ZR1 owners "feel" that there is a market movement and are holding on.

Or, if they are like me, they just love their cars and have no plans to sell.

Dark Red Metallic... rare? I'm not so sure...

DRM is a pretty low number color for ZR-1s as is Arctic White. However steel blue us a pretty rare color, yellow etc

I owned a Bright Aqua/Gray 1995 ZR-1, serial #0152. It is currently for sale in Lakeland Florida. It was one of only 13 Bright Aqua ZR-1's produced for the 1995 model year.

I recently came across a 1991 Quasar Blue ZR-1 for sale. The rarity of the color was a big factor in my decision to buy it.

I own a 91 Quasar Blue ZR-1 As well. Will be hanging onto it figuring that prices will be better for the rare colors than the common colors.

I recently discovered that a friend of a friend has a Quasar Blue on Black 91 Z. Super nice guy, owns several Vettes, bought the Z because he just thought it was cool. Has no idea that it's "worth more" because it's a beautiful rare color. All the people who care about the C4 ZR-1 are reading this. Sad.
