Default Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

Ok if I see one more truck from the 50's cross the block I'm turning on re runs of Seinfeld....

80 grand for a K-5 blazer with an LS-3? Really ? Talk about money to burn...I would have rather bought the 2006 Bently for 56,000 I saw the other night...I think the original sticker was $ 225,000..

Different strokes for different folks I guess..

Yeah, I tried to watch as well. When I saw a 1990 Pontiac Trans Am for for about 30k, I knew that the end times were near.

Yea I watched just about every episode. I don't understand the early 90s Broncos and blazers that sell for the low 20s. I worked at a used car lot in the late 90s and we were lucky to get 6 or 7 grand. These ones crossing the blocks aren't low mileage examples either. Also don't understand how a 500 cc micro car can fetch in the low 40s while our cars are in the low 20s

After years of loosely following these auctions I’ve come to the conclusion that these people operate in a world of their own. The buyers, sellers, traders and companies that cater to them seem to feed off each other. Often with more money in play than good sense. The pricing has little relevance to street pricing or demand. I spent 30yrs in the high end car business and have seen little correlation the real world.

I snicker when watching this and listening to the commentators talk about “neck snapping”acceleration from a muscle car that did 13’s.

If Corvette performance dropped off after 95 like it did in the 70's and 80's,than I feel the Z would be commanding a lot more money...

Of course this is a hypothetical situation....Technology has just come such a long way since the C4 Z...There was no performance for these cars after 1970 until the ZR-1 came along..

Since the ZR-1 you had the C5 Z06,C6 Z06 and of course the C6 ZR1......All of these cars I mentioned are not bringing in a lot of money right now.....I don't think they ever will.....

Most people are bitten by the technology bug and just want the latest fastest flashiest car with a warranty....Thing is,they can get it,which leaves some of the cars I mentioned behind....

The Corvette enthusiast know the C4 Z bought Corvette back into the limelight..

I completely agree. That's why I think the Bronco and blazer prices keep going up. There is a market for a 2 door full size suv and they aren't available anymore. I myself would like one but don't want to pay the prices they command. I'm sure if they offered a 2 door option on the new Tahoe or upcoming Bronco that prices would eventually go down.
