Default Temperature Sensor wire length

The previous owner moved the air inlet temperature sensor from the air horn near the throttle body to the air filter housing.

There is about 18" of extra wire coiled up by the radiator.

My question is: Can I remove the excess wire or is the system "calibrated" for a certain lead length?

My guess is that the lead length is not critical but I hope someone can confirm it.

Thanks, Jim

The lead length is not critical as long as the wire is the same gauge or larger than stock.

gbrtng,
Thanks for the information. I have shortened the wires and harness and it looks much neater.
