NEW CAR, SAME DRIVERS FOR DYSON RACING IN 2006 AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES

Poughkeepsie, NY - Dyson Racing will unveil its new car and engine package at the official American Le Mans Series' Winter Test at Sebring, Fla. on January 23-25. The team will continue to run a Lola-AER package in 2006, but with two new Lola B06/10 chassis powered by Advance Engine Research's new 3.6 liter twin-turbo V8 engines.

Dyson Racing's partnership with Lola and AER was first established in 2002 when the team began running the AER four-cylinder turbocharged Lola B01/60. Having claimed the Series' LMP675 championship in 2003, the Lola-AER was still a proven winner through 2005, with two wins: a one-two at Mid-Ohio, the team's first such finish in the Series, and at Mosport in September, which gave James Weaver his 100th career win.

For 2006, James Weaver will be driving with Butch Leitzinger in the No. 16 Thetford/Norcold machine. This is Weaver's 20th year with Dyson Racing, 10 of which have been in successful collaboration with Leitzinger. While he will be concentrating the bulk of his energies in other series, Andy Wallace will continue his 11-year association with the Dyson team by driving with Leitzinger and Weaver at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans, as well as assisting the team in testing and development.

Chris Dyson, runner-up in the 2005 P1 championship, will be paired with Guy Smith in this year's effort in the No. 20 Thetford/Norcold entry. Smith drove with Dyson last year at Sebring and again at Petit Le Mans.

"Your off-track relationship with your team and co-driver is as important as what you do at the track," said Smith. "Dyson Racing is the perfect blend. Rob runs a 100 percent professional operation that enjoys its racing. I worked well with Chris last year, and along with Butch, Andy and James, it's a great team with great people.
