Default 90-92 Mod test

This weekend I hope to do a few dyno runs...if the clutch slave holds up. I am going to see if they will let me run the stock chip on the first run and then switch to the DRM chip.....we will see what the difference is, and get a basline.

90 ZR1 136K miles

Current mods:
Corsa cat back, DRM Chip.

-I think the next mod would be the Ported intake
-Then headers.

The two planned mods will make a big difference.

I was thinking that doing the ported plenum would be the next step as it is the most affordable at $700-$1200. Headers are $1500 plus install.

LAst year during the Dyno test I did not get any rpm readings as they could not figure out where to read it....I assume this would be the proper place? Any input?

Lee, your right about the white tach wire. I spoke to Marc H about this very question last weekend. However he feels the orange wire comming out the back of the ingition unit under the plenum is a more reliable tach signal. If you look down the back of the plenum under the MAP sensor you can see it in the group of exposed wires there.

I wonder if it depends on the dyno or the operator. Last year at Effingham they had a problem initially with my car, until I reminded them the Z has a waste-spark feature. "Oh!" Suddenly, problem solved.

Just wondering if you have been able to do the dyno comparison yet?

Rough start, I went and put it on the dyno....something is not right....first 2 runs were 276 and then 303hp. I need to figure out whats going on....pretty well established that a stocker with Corsa is about 330-335. Both Hans and Dons car produced these numbers.

I have not abandoned this, just need to wrap up a few projects....cam emblems, and porting IHs. Sorry for the delay, I was diappointed when I shelled out the $80 and that car did not perform after running a 12.88 @ 112.68 a few weeks prior

Frankly I would trust the trap speed more than the dyno. At 112 mph, it sounds like it's making power at expected levels for a stocker.
The white wire for the tach signal needs a low voltage pickup which some dynos don't have.
Marc H has his own that he brings with.
