Default Went in a 10 & came out a 6

VIP showing of the C8 yesterday afternoon. I've been a vocal fan of the car, so was looking forward to taking my enthusiasm up a notch. I was personally let down.

I'm 6'2" and 190 lbs, but could not get comfortable in the drivers seat. Leg room lacking and side bolsters, though wide open, were suited only for track, not street or touring. Should be able to accommodate both.. they were too tight for me. The passenger environment was ridiculously tight unless you put your elbow into the drivers space on the center console.

My biggest disappointment was the wiring finish work in the engine compartment. Tape wrapped harnesses everywhere and loose, not organized neatly. I realize our LT-5 has a rat's nest under the plenum, but it's under the plenum, not hanging out everywhere.

Caused me to walk out and sit in a 2019 GrandSport with 7 speed manual! Not sure if I'll buy the C7, but I'm going back tomorrow to see if I get a warm fuzzy and trade in my 2012 45th anniversary Camaro..

Left flat and a bit disappointed with the C8. ..20191114_143944.jpeg20191114_143922.jpg20191114_143924.jpg

I'm with you Steve. They just don't blow up my skirt!
Being in the auto industry for years I have some pretty good connections. Was visiting with one of my GM dealer friends a few weeks ago. He offered me a C8 pretty much at his cost. I told him I really just didn't care that much for them. (Wouldn't be right to take it and then resale.)
This impression may change, but for now I'm good with the engine in the front of my Corvettes.
If I want it behind me I'll get another DeTomaso or something.
Just my 2 cents worth. Probably not worth that!!

While I absolutely love the car I do feel GM dropped the ball visually when it comes to the engine compartment. The CF covers are an option, these cover some of the stuff back there. If this option isn’t chosen not sure what there is to cover some of the clutter. Just how difficult would it have been for GM to at least clean up some what back there? It can’t be about price and bean counters,I’ve got a Honda with a plastic interior that’s looks great,no excuse for cheapin out GM. Zuess Bronze, black interior,NO GOOFY SPOILER please.

I'm with you--happy with my C7 Z06 A8. But I did love my Pantera. Mufflers the size of a loaf of bread made incredible sounds and for a '70s car great power and handling. One of only a few cars I've had over the years that I wish I had been able to keep. A a one owner 30k mile car. Alas my wife kept moving me in to successively smaller and smaller garages... Down to a two car with a lift for the Z06/BMW.--Bob

I could survive the taped wires.
However, every time I get into a C-7 and close the door, the door hits my left hip pushing me over so that my right hip slams into the aircraft carrier sized console.
Teensie little steering wheel reminds me of a wooden toy car with the tiny wheel.
While I love the look of the C-7, it is not a "good-fit"
Beginning to sound like the C-8 might be even worse fitment wise.
Rats!

Nice looking Pantera Bob!
Mine was a yellow'71. Had it in the late 80's. Like a lot of cars I have had, it was something to enjoy and then move on to something else.
If we had only known!! But, at least, I still have the memories.

Marty,

If you get a chance, get in one to make a decision. I was and am very excited about a mid engine Corvette. I'm just disappointed with the "visual" quality and my inability to fit comfortably behind the wheel..

Yes, the C7 is tight too. I almost bought a 2019 GrandSport with 7 spd manual yesterday, but decided not to..

Steve

It’s not like there’s tons of room in our ZR-1s?

I found the C8 to be much "tighter" and legroom less than my ZR-1.. that said, if I was going track the car, the C8 seat would certainly keep you anchored.
